Conservation Guide would like to welcome all volunteers and volunteering organisations to our new platform. Here at the Guide we are putting together an archive of volunteering projects from around the world providing prospective volunteers a chance to browse an array of opportunities from marine and terrestrial conservation programmes to teaching and community projects. Over the course of the new few months our Conservation Guide Map will be sprouting new project listings far and wide providing volunteers with a useful visual aid of the location of volunteering opportunities around the world.

What is a listing?

Each listing provides volunteer organisations a chance to showcase their projects and should provide prospective volunteers with factual and up to date information about the project in question. It is vitally important that each project listing is regularly maintained by each organisation so volunteers can feel confident that the information provided is current and reflects project life at that moment in time. Listings can be created by the organisations themselves or by a volunteer and later claimed by the organisation. Current features of our listings include;

How do i create a listing?

Creating a project listing couldn’t be easier. Follow the steps below to create your own:

  1. Sign up and log in to our site. The sign up button then changes to ‘+ project’ button on the home page.
  2. Fill out all the fields on the add project page that are relevant to your project listing.
  3. If your organisation has more than one project you will need to complete this form for every one.
  4. Make sure to upload pictures to your listings to make them more appealing to prospective volunteers. The more the merrier!
  5. Make sure you have placed your pin in the correct position on the map.
  6. When you have completed your listing it will appear on our conservation guide map.
  7. To view or edit your projects, click on your name in the top right hand corner of the screen (once you are logged in of course) then select ‘my projects’ from the drop down menu.
  8. Finally, encourage your volunteers to review on our site!
